Galway
In the Spring of 2000, I took a sabbatical between my work in the Teamsters and my graduate studies at Cornell University. I travelled the West of Ireland - from Clear Island in the South to Donegal in the North. These pages chronicle my time there, the paths I travelled, the birds I saw and my family who still live in Ireland.
Galway Roots
These pages are dedicated to Tom Hickey, who was perhaps the last bachelor-farmer-poet of the Hickey clan. This picture was taken during one of our visits to Tom's favourite woods at Curraghchase. Mount Knockfierna is the backround. This is the high ground that overlooks the family fields and where the fairy folk are said to dwell.
