My parents are finally updating our family website. I have been telling them for months now that they need to post more photos of me, write more articles about me, and generally spread my joy through the internet. I'll keep bugging my dad to update my photo albums. Feel free to write comments about how cute I am in the guestbook. If any other kids out there want to start an Angelic Anarchist chapter let me know. We are building our movement.

Mairead Roisin Hickey joined us on August 14, 2003. She made her dramatic entrance into this world during the big power blackout in the Noretheast US. Her astrological charts suggest that she is bound for greatness. Maggie brings incredible joy to our lives. She is a ham for the camera. We are still renovating the site, so our apologies for the many rough spots that are still here.
Maggie's Birth Story Maggie firmly established her membership in the Angelic Anarchists Union by precipitating the 2003 blackout of the Eastern US and part of Canada. She denies any involvement in the power outage, but she says that with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. |
Maggie's Diagnosis Story There is no easy way to learn that your child has a severe, lifelong disability. The process of discovery is different for each child. Some parents never learn the reason for developmental disabilities, and those must be the most difficult cases. Our story was a dramatic rollar-coaster for us, but typical in many ways for parents of Angels. |

Early Intervention Maggie started early intervention therapies shortly after she turned one. Her therapists are truly a blessing for her and our family. She has PT with Misty, OT with Pam, SEIT with Patti and SLT with Minday. Our social buttertfly keeps a full dance card. |

Angelman Syndrome Maggie was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome in the fall of 2004. The clinical descriptions of AS can never capture the spirit and joy of our children. Still, AS presents serious challenges for Maggie and our family. We hope that Maggie's site will add to connections within our community and awareness in the broader society. |
